The event organised by Rupert Adcock, Managing Director of Global Career Company  (GCC) and his  team of highly talented resourcing professionals and event managers saw a massive turn out from career driven, ambitious, knowledgeable, skilful and aspiring African’s in the United Kingdom who all came to network and secure potential positions that will pave a soft landing for their return to Africa. The employers came to London to source out genuinely interested  candidates with transferable skills and experiences attained from the diaspora to add value  to motherland companies and foster the economic growth of the continent. Participating companies at the career summit included, G4S , The reputable global integrated security company was represented John Avberhota, HR Director for Nigeria, Yvonne Sibaya- Senior talent and resourcing consultant from South Africa.  The leading nutrition, health and wellness brand Ñestlē was represented by Anil Seth,Sarah Laure Tchala, Antoinette Arkoh, Lewis Ekra and Adesola Akinyose.The German multi national engineering household name BOSCH was represented by Paul Vermeij, Dumani Mali and Michael Kloss.

African Development Bank (AFDB) was represented by David Mandla Munyoro. Nigerian Breweries (NB) was represented by Victor Famuyibo, Olugbenga Anina, Olayinka Damiro, Alice Ameobi and Emmanuel Oriakhi. The African Export-Import bank (Afreximbank) was represented by Jean Patrick Habyarimana and Stephen Tio Kauma.

Other participating companies  included Stanbic IBTC (A member of Standard bank group) and Education Africa, Access Bank PLC, African Development Fund, The AGE KHAN University, APM TERMINALS, DRESSER-RAND, EXPRO, FINLAYS, FrieslandCampina, MoëtHennessy, NMB, OCEAN RIG, OLDMUTUAL and Schneider Electric.

I particularly enjoyed my time networking at this great event hosted by a team of very helpful and approachable professionals filled with employers of choice who came pregnant with information about their respective companies for genuinely interested candidates.

I would like to encourage anybody looking to move back home especially my fellow Cameroonians around the world that the Global Careers recruitment summit is an event worth attending as it bridges the gab between you and reputable employers back in Africa and could definitely secure you an appointment for a smooth transition back to Africa.
