Cameroonian fashion designer Liz Ngwane of Margo’s Mode has dropped the brands latest printastic collection called “Heritage”. Comparatively, the fashion designer from Cameroon is raising the bar with her latest collection of print style.
It goes without saying that Margo’s mode latest creativity has the stylish man and woman at heart. Mammypi caught up with the rising cloth maker and this is what she had to say about the “Heritage” collection.
My collection is inspired by the cultural, historical, social and geological heritage of Africa. This collection is aiming to promote African print at workman space.The outfits have remarkable fits flattering for all body types. The clothes blend easily and open our senses to the wealth of color and diversity of Africa. This collection draws African sources of immense power to play with texture

[su_heading]DIAMOND DRESS: Model Mercy Joyce[/su_heading]
Inspired by the “Casas Obus” is an ancient building found in the northern part of Cameroon. Not to mention it is mostly built by titled Muslims. Also, the front of the diamond skirt is like that of the Casas represent the four areas of concern. Of course family, social, professional and relationship. The fabrics are well chosen with open holes just like the Casas Obus building.
[su_heading]The SAWA Dress: GKI BARBIE[/su_heading]
As a matter of fact, The SAWA refers to people living on the cost of Cameroon. These group of tribes includes (Douala, Bakweri, Bakossi). The Sawa dress comprises of A-shaped skirt and top inspired by the loincloth. Likewise, the wrapped top is inspired by the traditional clothing worn by fishermen throughout the east coast of AFRICA. The beats on the skirts symbolize the bright eyes of a sea fish.
[su_heading]ESANG DRESS: AKERE NERISSA[/su_heading]
In like manner, the ESANG dress is inspired by the Korup National Park. Esang means peace in the Bakossi language in Cameroon. As peaceful as water can be so is the Korup back a beautiful geographic landscape. The dress has an opening like bridges symbolizing the support irons of the bridge and the Ankara represents the green vegetation. This dress implies peace between people visiting the park.

In addition to her collection, the designer gives us Femme. Femme is a dress inspired by the woman whose place is in the kitchen. To emphasize the days all a woman could do was cook and clean her home. That was their office. This dress is symbolic of a woman’s humility. Therefore femme meaning woman.

[su_heading]THE DUMANIC SHIRT[/su_heading]
Dunamic is a Hebrew name meaning strength or power. The shirts draws inspiration from African men back in the days where they put all efforts to make beautiful woven prints. This design aims to bring back the African prints in the corporate workplace in case you needed one. The shirts are long sleeved with buttons and have the mandarin collar.
