Ankara dress styles are increasingly becoming popular in Africa and around the world. As you already know, we lost our grandmother back in July. In August, the family gathered at her home in mile 4 Nkwen to give her a befitting burial.
Just like with most families and traditional African celebrations, we had a theme for each day of the funeral process. In that light, my friend’s sister who is an excellent seamstress stitched me this beautiful Ankara dress.
I wanted something simple and elegant and appropriate for the weather in Bamenda. In spite of all the challenges in getting the fabric from Bamenda to Limbe, and measurement in time, the result was excellent.
