When I got the invite from Lee Sharrock, I knew it was one of those events I could not afford to miss. Lee Sharrock is like a connecting point. She brings together the most talented group of people together. So each time I get an invitation, everything else is on hold especially as I had a new dress I was looking for the perfect occasion to wear to.
Last Thursday was all about art by artist and Actor Edward Akrout in collaboration with Lee Sharrock. Edward Akrout hosted a private view for his ‘FIRST IMPRESSION’: A SOLO EXHIBITION at The Hoxton, Shoreditch. The venue was quite befitting to the event as Shoreditch is popular for its graffiti’s and fashion trends. Have I mentioned the cocktails, wine and canapés yet? Guest were catered to excess fine wine and the best cocktails by William Barentsz Gin.

Best known for his roles in high profile TV series and films including; Mr. Selfridge, Midsomer Murders and The Borgias, actor Edward Akrout has kept his talent as an artist hidden from the public eye until recently, when he presented his debut solo exhibition at Café Royal in March to an enthusiastic crowd of gallerists, collectors and VIPs. [su_quote]Akrout admits that even though he is capable of handling the daily rejection and criticism he faces as an actor, the idea of showing his art to the world terrified him[/su_quote]
This autumn Akrout will exhibit a suite of new drawings and paintings titled ‘First Impression’ at The Hoxton, Shoreditch, offering visitors an insight into the world of Edward Akrout. There is an unmistakable connection between Akrout’s two chosen disciplines, for as an actor his job is to inhabit different emotional states, and as an artist he has an uncanny ability to capture in only a few strokes of the brush or pen, the fleeting emotions and personality traits of characters he comes across on his travels in London, Paris and NYC.

I got the dress from one of my fave online stores[su_button url=”http://click.linksynergy.com/fs-bin/click?id=co2AqLQ7GiI&offerid=343835.291&subid=0&type=4″ target=”blank” style=”3d” background=”#1fa317″ size=”5″ radius=”0″ text_shadow=”5px 3px 3px #000000″] TB-Dress[/su_button]. The dress is extremely beautiful and very stylish with the cut-out. The lace feels soft and the dress could be worn for dates, weddings and just about any occasion you feel like standing out. The colour was also perfect as it blended well with the paintings and it was a suitable choice for the event which had many high profile personalities and also made a very good impression. I would recommend the dress to anyone looking for a beautiful affordable dress for any event. I loved the dress and maybe doing an outfit post again with it. You can purchase the dress Here. I had such an amazing time networking and was particularly pleased to have met Africa Seen & Heard Founder Winifred Adeyemi; and art collector Jan-Maarten Asscher
