Hello and thanks for visiting Mammypi today. It’s always a pleasure having you on the blog. Today, I’ll be telling you all about an awesome, artistic experience I had last week in a multidimensional space where a variety of thoughts and ideas coexist.
Last Thursday in the company of some magnificent group of artist all flown in from Nigeria by Andrew Lacey, founder & owner of Lacey Contemporary Gallery situated in Holland Park quiet neighbourhood in association with Aabru Art. “Transcending Boundaries” was back for its third year. The exhibition featured exceptional never-before-seen artworks by 34 artists.

I had the privilege to quiz the thought provoking artist Emenike Ogwo to find out what inspired his painting. Standing in front of “Water Scarcity” the artist asked me a simple question. “Do you know the name of the location where the Chibok girls where abducted”? My response was a shameful No! The artist takes a pause, and educates me on the geography surrounding the missing Chibok girls and how the piece is a Portrayal of a real-life observation and what inspires him. The canvas tells the story of the few girls who managed to flee Boko Haram in the Sambisa forest.
