US First Lady, Melania Trump, this week is on her first visit to Africa. Specifically, during her five-day trip, she is scheduled to visit Ghana, Malawi, Kenya, and Egypt.
USĀ First Lady wears Africa-inspired Leopard Shoes
As expected the former model spared no details in her wardrobe choices. Accordingly, Mrs. Trump donned a leopard print Manolo Blahnik stilettos for her departure from the US. Melania skillfully matched her stilettos with a brown suede Vince trench coat, a definite must-have travel essential.
Ghana’s First Lady stays true to her African roots
Upon her arrival, the US First Lady opted for a $2,000 custom red and white striped Celine shirtdress. She masterfully matched the dress with white stiletto pumps as she met with Ghana’s First Lady Rebecca Akufo-Addo for tea. Uniquely, Mrs. Akufo-Addo and her aides stayed true to their authentic African roots. In fact, the Ghanaian first lady looked regal in African print, rocking a mixed print long skirt suit with matching jacket. Likewise, her aides also donned similarĀ outfits in African print.
Melania Trump wears flats too!
Interestingly, after tea, Mrs. Trump slipped into white skimmer flats to visit a pediatric clinic. Could her legs have been hurting from walking on heels or was it just for practicality and convenience? Definitely, I am quick to believe the former. Without a doubt, this is just to console myself that Melania is just like the rest of us!
Melania Trump recycles for the first time ever!
To prove further that Melania is indeed like the rest of us, she also repeated her $600 military style olive greenĀ Veronica Beard jacket! Guess what? This was her first time ever to recycle an outfit. Call me what you want but I am comforted knowing that she too can repeat something from her closet like the rest of us. Besides, who can blame her? Certainly, the jacket is effortlessly and subtly elegant to keep heads turning!
Conversely, Melania paired her jacket with a $49.90 Zara snakeskin flats. This was strangely out of character for the first lady who often rocks expensive pieces. Ultimately, this look was an interesting mix of high end and low end. Absolutely not bad at all, Mrs. Trump!
