Grace Baya accompanies Uchenna Oduputa to receive CAAFA UK recognition award
Last weekend, Grace Baya stunned in a yellow evening dress custom made by Liz Ngwane of Margo’s Mode. The socialite rocked the red carpet of the 2018 UK Cameroon Film and Movie Academy Awards (CAAFA) as Uchenna Oduputa’s date. Uchenna Oduputa is a famed Nigerian actor who also received a recognition award during the ceremony.

Using only three days to make the dress, Liz Ngwane definitely shows she is a force to reckon with in the design world. The rising Cameroonian designer’s choice of fabric is fabulous! Meanwhile, the vibrant yellow colour selected by Grace is absolutely to die for. How about that superb folded off-shoulder neckline? Breathtaking! However, I am not a fan of the choice of lace detailing against the yellow fabric. Likewise, something about the bow train is off. I feel like it needs some more movement or something. That said, the final product is spectacular! In addition, the fit is everything! It shows off Grace’s body in the most flattering way.
Styling a custom-made yellow evening dress
Meanwhile, Grace’s makeup and hair are on point. Absolutely beautiful and exquisite. However, the black pumps are too heavy for the dress in my opinion. Something daintier, like a strappy nude, gold, or silver sandals would have worked better. Even if she preferred the black and yellow combination, a black sandal would have been a better choice than the chunky black platform pumps.
Overall though, Grace sure did put up a lovely showing. Also, kudos to Liz! You both, keep on shining.
